This is a question we get quite a bit and luckily, we have an answer for you.
Since digital cameras are able to take enormous photos these days, many digital photos have rather large file sizes. These large file sizes are sometimes troublesome for a variety of website upload systems. If you have ever tried to post one of your digital photos to a website and received an error message telling you the file is too large, your camera setting is most likely the problem.
So, what can I do?
Well, for starters, you can adjust the resolution of the photos you plan to take right on the camera itself. If you are planning on using your photos for simple postings on the internet, there is no reason to have your camera set to take the highest quality photographs. Actually, the “email” setting would most likely do just fine.
What can I do if I already took the photos?
If you already took the photos and can’t take them again, there are a whole bunch of online photo resizing websites out there that can assist in resizing your photos. They are free and complete the process in a matter of seconds. One website we have had good luck with is called “Shrink Pictures.” Basically, you would just upload your original photo, choose the settings and go from there. The instructions are very simple.
Does that help? If so, great. If not, be sure to contact us so we can explain further.
