The Devil Wears Prada star was accused by friends of the Italian businessman last week (begs23Jun08) of turning her former flame in to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The pair split last month (Jun08), shortly before he was arrested on suspicion of fraud.

FanBolt writes: Tragic actor HEATH LEDGER has had a theater named after him in his Australian hometown of Perth, as a tribute to his life. The 575-seat Heath Ledger Theater, which cost $87 million (#43.5 million) to build, opened on Tuesday (01Jul08) to honor the stars commitment to acting. Ledgers father, Kim Ledger, attended the ceremony and says, "He was such a giver to the arts right across the board. I really feel that theres not a lot of things hed put his name to, but hed put his name to that."

The actress has been living with partner Brad Pitt, their children and assistants in an exclusive wine resort in Provence, France since the beginning of the summer (08). The Dark Knight director Chris Nolan has now screened the first trailer for the tragic actor, but he was still editing the upcoming blockbuster when Ledger lost his life. Nolan says, "He was already on another film. It was months and months since wed wrapped. We had really cut a lot of the film together and watched the film a couple of times and were about halfway through the edit process.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) says it offered performers a three-year deal worth $250 million (#125 million) just hours before the current contract expired on Monday (30June08). But the threat of a strike still hangs over Tinseltown, after the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) said the proposed deal might not be enough.

The old guard at Tribune continues to exit. The latest casualty is Bill Shaw, who since 2002, has served as the vp and general manager of the recently rebranded WGN. According to a report in the companys own Chicago Tribune, Shaw will leave the company Aug. 1.

Union bosses have been involved in crucial contract talks with film and TV studio bosses to prevent another strike similar to the The Writers Guild of Americas walkout, which brought Hollywood to a standstill from November (07) until February (08). Actors have threatened walkouts at the time of their contracts expiration if talks between the unions and major film studios failed to resolve a dispute over pay and working conditions.
