The trios A Little Bit Longer release hit record store shelves on Tuesday (12Aug08) and enjoyed a great first-day of business. Chart experts predict the album could debut at the top of next weeks (20Aug08) chart with more than 600,000 sales. The siblings are expected to challenge Coldplay for the biggest-ever sales week for a digital album title - the British rockers Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends sold 288,000 downloads in its first week on sale earlier this year (08). And Billboard reports the Jonas Brothers may pull off another chart feat next week if their self-titled album, which currently sits at number 11, falls back into the top 10.

In her first interview for two years, the Toxic hitmaker has told of her delight at becoming an aunt - and also of her shock when she discovered that her 16-year-old sister was having a baby. Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to her first daughter, Maddie, with her boyfriend Casey Aldridge in June (08). And her older sibling - who lost custody of her own two sons in 2007 - was overjoyed to welcome the new baby into the family. She tells U.S. magazine OK!, "That was special, but it was also strange because shes always been the baby.

FanBolt writes: PARIS HILTON is being sued by a company that alleges the socialite owes them $75,000 (37,500) for not fully promoting a movie she starred in. Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. filed a lawsuit in Miami last week (ends08Aug08), alleging that the 27-year-old owes them the sum for not fulfilling promotional obligations. The hotel heiress is said to have entered into an agreement in 2004 for the production and distribution of the movie National Lampoons Pledge This!, in which she starred, according to the lawsuit.

FanBolt writes: HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star VANESSA HUDGENS is being sued for $5 million (2.5 million) by the man who helped to launch her singing career. Johnny Vieira filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Monday (11Aug08), alleging that he and Hudgens entered into a production agreement to launch the teenagers career. He claims they had a deal to "share equally" in her potential success. Vieira says the agreement was approved by the court because she was a minor. Vieira goes on to say that she dumped him when the Disney film became a success and they entered into a settlement agreement.

The Heroes stars father, Alan, was arrested on suspicion of felony spousal abuse on Monday, after allegedly striking his wife, Lesley, three times. FanBolt writes: U.S. disability advocates kept their promise and staged a protest at the premiere of BEN STILLERs latest movie TROPIC THUNDER. The film, which also stars Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr., has been slammed by 22 disability groups in the U.S. for its repeated use of the word "retard" in association with one of its main characters Simple Jack. And demonstrators showed their distaste for the movie by picketing the Mann Village Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday night (11Aug08) insisting the film "humiliates people with intellectual disabilities". Stiller, Black and Downey Jr. walked the red carpet amid shouts from angry protestors who were waving placards urging cinema goers to boycott the movie.

Drama may be king on ad-supported cable, but that doesnt mean all cable networks are bypassing comedy. FX, for example, is set to launch the fourth season of edgy sitcom Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 10 p.m. 

USA Network breezed to yet another ratings win last week, averaging 2.75 million viewers in prime, thanks to a strong showing by its four original summer series and the always-reliable WWE Raw.

Television broadcasters across the nation have vowed to protect the transition to digital TV by ensuring uninterrupted service via distribution partners in the weeks surrounding the Feb. 17 transition date.
