| Visiting The Transfer Station For The First Time October 1, 2008 02:48:43I have a bad memory when it comes to when the garbage people pick up the recycling. I thought they were coming to get it this morning. In actuality, they are coming next Tuesday for the recycling.
Of course, this had to happen the one time I decided to put a whole heck of a [...] - [Read more] |

| I Like Working At Night October 1, 2008 02:23:23It has been a busy day. I have been working at the computer for hours, but found time to squeeze in a trip to the transfer station (next post) and time to mow the lawn. I wasn’t planning on mowing the lawn, I kind of just found myself sitting on the lawnmower riding around.
I [...] - [Read more] |
| Bailout failed(for now) September 29, 2008 22:02:03I thought that maybe there was a deal with congress to vote for the revised bailout plan, but some hard conservative republicans have caused the vote to fail.I am not for taxpayer money to be used to prop up private firms, but this situation calls for it.The line between Wall street and Main street is blurred,as regular people are tied to stocks and bonds more than ever..If you have a 401(k),pension,or work and live in the US,then the fate of financial institutions and the credit market affects you.PASS the BILL CONGRESS!!! - [Read more] |
| New Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker September 29, 2008 17:21:14Well, Saturday came and went. I don’t feel any older, I don’t look any older, but I am older.
Over the past few years, small things have changed. I have noticed my back aching a little more than it did when I was a kid. Also, the recovery time for just about everything takes longer [...] - [Read more] |
| Comment on Plugged In, Not Charging - Windows Vista + Laptop by Pete September 29, 2008 11:02:50You can have different problems giving similar symptoms. But in this one-year old thread there is clearly a Vista issue. I experienced exactly the same problems with a Toshiba. As with others the problem seemed to start after some Vista automatic updates. In my case, when the battery is installed the computer apparently draws the power from the battery, even when plugged in, and when it reaches 0, sometimes it turns itself off. Other times it just keeps giving you the known message “plugged in, not charging”. It is not a cable/plug/transformer problem because if you take the battery out, the computer happily starts to work normally. Another Vista bug, means my next computer will be an Apple. - [Read more] |
| Comment on Presidential Debate - September 26, 2008 by Joe September 28, 2008 02:41:41I generally try to not pay attention to politics, I think it’s all a big joke, as if whoever puts on a better show will get more applause, they never do anything for the little guys but take their tax money and live like Kings.
I just hate how the basis of the campaign is to make the other guy look bad, not major issues or topics. Not so bad this year as it was in the past, but still pretty intolerable. Also, I just love it when the topics focused on are narrowed to current events. It is a four year term, a hurricane that hit us now and gas prices at the current moment won’t mean jack two years later.
I tend to make my decision during the last few weeks, mainly last minute like everything else I do. I’ll scrounge around reading everything I can from both sides and make an informed decision. I am just glad Hillary is out of it!!!! There I said it… - [Read more] |
| Reseeding With Pennington Smart Seed - Sun & Shade September 26, 2008 22:45:33I think I would like to start this post off by making something clear. Sure, everyone I have known throughout my life might disagree with that statement, but I know, in my [...] - [Read more] |
| Presidential Debate - September 26, 2008 September 26, 2008 21:55:38I just wanted to let my fine and honorable readers know that I will be unavailable tonight from 9PM to about 11PM. I will be downstairs watching the first presidential debate of 2008.
Due to my unavailability, I will not be taking phone calls, unless they are of emergency in nature. Oh please, like anyone calls me. Haha.
Does anyone else care about politics like I do? I mean, I don’t like politics, I get frustrated as much as the next guy from the whole circus. I like the drama. I like watching each campaign’s strategy and how they try to outwit the other. I don’t know, it gets me all wound up and ready to fight.
Ok, bye.

| Comment on Plugged In, Not Charging - Windows Vista + Laptop by Chris September 26, 2008 17:04:35Okay… so I turn back to look at my (powered down) laptop after posting my last comment, and the charge indicator light is actually on. I gotta tell you, it certainly isn’t from any effort on my part. I work with computers for a living, and crap like this never ceases to amaze me. I’m seriously considering posting a rant on my toaster to see if I can achieve a similar effect. - [Read more] |

| With Chrysanthemums With Butterfly September 25, 2008 20:12:42I was outside today taking some pictures of the White Chrysanthemums, when I noticed a butterfly on one of the flowers. I considered this a “photo op” because it really was.

| Beautiful Autumn Leaves September 25, 2008 19:59:33During our walk yesterday, I told Laura to pick up some colorful leaves for me because I wanted to take some pictures of them. There is this one area that has many of these types of leaves.
She ignored me.
