| Comment on Cleaning Gutters & Installing Amerimax Gutter Covers by Fulton August 5, 2008 00:40:27I installed these covers when I also discovered them at home depot(they’re cheaper here but lowes also has them) I’m very satisfied with them. I have tried other devices(hinged; rolled mesh but none work as great as amerimax. I also used clear gutter caulk to seal each section and to help close up any small holes at the ends where I made the end caps. When I saw this blog I had to add My two cents worth. Happy guttering!!!!!!!!! - [Read more] |
| Adding Ornamental Grass And Mulch To Mailbox Area August 4, 2008 22:22:58Laura and I have been walking quite a bit. We are up to 3.7 miles per walk now. I never really thought that walking was much exercise until recently. When I hit that three mile point, I start feeling it. The feeling has been less and less intense though, so I guess I am getting [...] - [Read more] |
| Blue Screen After Sleep Mode - Windows Vista August 4, 2008 20:29:31Now, if you remember the beginning of this saga, I increased the size of the page file to a minimum of 1000MB and a maximum of 6000MB. I did this because I was getting a blue screen after sleep mode in Windows Vista. The more I look, the more popular I am finding this particular [...] - [Read more] |
| Comment on RIDGID 3000 PSI Gas Pressure Washer by Alice August 4, 2008 05:54:02I never did figure out how to get the soap to work right, whether in a power pressure washer or just one of those attachments you put on your hose. Either all the soap comes out at once, or you don’t get any soap at all. A real pain. I also hate the soap dispensers that are solid colored so you can’t see when you’re running out. But this sure is a fun tool to use, especially on a hot day! - [Read more] |
| Flowers That Bloom In August August 4, 2008 02:30:30I was outside today just poking around and noticed that a bunch of new flowers recently bloomed. Since some of them look really good, I decided to go inside and grab my camera to take a few pictures. These are pretty neat shots, unfortunately, I only (think) know what one flower is and that’s the [...] - [Read more] |
| Comment on Increasing The Paging File Size In Vista by Joe August 3, 2008 09:33:23I can clarify why for you.
Pagefile is hard drive space that is used as RAM. Your computer uses your RAM, and when you run out or need more than you have, it starts to use the pagefile. If you use all your set pagefile, then it craps out and restarts. The reason it seems faster is probably because its caching things in the pagefile now that it knows it has enough space.
If this were XP and you have 4GB like I do, then you dont need pagefile. Remember, hard drives run in millisecons, RAM runs in nanoseconds. The more you can keep in RAM the better. - [Read more] |
| Increasing The Paging File Size In Vista August 2, 2008 13:14:26Just a word of warning, I really don’t know what I am talking about in this post. I gathered some fragments and decided to talk about them.
Ok, since I have been using this new computer, I have had a little issue. When the computer would go into sleep mode, things would be normal. When [...] - [Read more] |
| We Sold The Other House August 2, 2008 02:37:41Today, we traveled to Newburgh, NY to close on the other house. This has been in the works for what seems like ages now. New York probably has one of the longest closing processes on the planet. I mean months…
The couple who bought it was very excited to start out in it. I am really [...] - [Read more] |
| Cleaning Out The Chimney August 2, 2008 01:46:41When we first moved in, there was a slight chill in the air. I guess it was early May or something, when it still gets chilly at night. I am not too good with the cold, so I got a fire going in the fireplace.
As the fire was burning in the fireplace, I thought [...] - [Read more] |
| Comment on Plugged In, Not Charging - Windows Vista + Laptop by Kathleen August 1, 2008 23:26:09I KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS.
1. Turn your laptop on
2. When fully powered up, REMOVE BATTERY.
3. Put battery back in
4. Quickly UNPLUG and REPLUG power chord (so its only unplugged for a split second, especially important if you have 0% battery life left)
5. You should see the batter icon change to “charging” and hover over and see “Plugged in, Charging”
I had this same problem, only my battery life was at 0%, because my laptop was a display model. - [Read more] |
| How Long Does It Take For Fire Wood To Dry? July 31, 2008 20:48:35From what I have been reading, it takes about a “season” for firewood to dry (or season) enough to burn. That’s about nine months. There are a bunch of factors, including temperature, if the wood is covered or not, stacked in sunlight or not, air flow, wood type and a bunch of other things. It [...] - [Read more] |

| The Benefits of Having Offshore Bank Account July 24, 2008 17:40:15There are many benefits of having an offshore bank account. | Just Plain Funny! July 21, 2008 19:43:16I took the boys to the park again the other day. As I went to sit down on the bench I noticed something in the sand. It was the head to an action figure. The first thing that came to my mind was that it was a choking hazard. So I picked it up and looked around for a garbage. Then, I noticed something weird about the head. It eerily resembled one of my siblings. I kept staring at the head and just kept laughing. It was really weird. Here is a picture of it.

I can’t think of an action figure out there that could possibly look like “you know who.” What do you think? - [Read more] | |
