| » Internet Evangelism Day Stories April 30, 2008 17:06:26This past Sunday, April 27, was Internet Evangelism Day. My question this week is, did anyone actually do anything for IED or is it just something people like to talk about? I was encouraged to find a several stories about IED activities.

| How To Change The World April 28, 2008 18:39:00It amazes me time and time again when I stop to think about it. Right now I am sitting in the college cafeteria typing on a laptop. People are all around doing different things. Some are eating food with friends, and some are eating food alone. Some arent eating but just having conversations. Some people are purchasing their food. Some people are walking through the cafeteria to get to where they have to go. Some people are going up the stairs, and some people are going down. Some people are heading outside and some people are coming inside. There is a mass of people walking left, right, sideways, every which way outside to get to the destination they have planned in their minds.
This is just a tiny spot in the earth. People are doing this and so much more all over the world. People are worshiping God, miracles are taking place. Sins are currently taking place and people are doing things they will regret for the rest of their lives. People are striking it rich, and people are loosing their last cent; at this VERY moment. People are giving birth to new precious life at this very moment that only God knows what is in store for that soul. At the same time many, many people are dieing at this VERY moment.
So many things are happening at this moment, while I am just sitting here typing on a laptop to you. What emotions do you have when you read that? Do you get angry? Sad? Do you just not care? Do you want to be out in the world, changing something horrible that is going on?
Recently God has placed in me a drive to get out there and change the world. I CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. Not by myself, but with God backing me up I can do practically anything if it complies with His word. One of those songs is March Out, By Fort Pastor. I highly recommend that you take some time to listen to it. I find myself starting my morning off by listening to this song, playing it over and over again and dancing around my dorm room. Then when the day is winding down I usually play it again; and it gives me that same rush. The same God given urge to get out there and change the world...

| Magnificent... History...? April 24, 2008 21:13:00I have a feature on my computer that lets me see what the National Geographic photograph of the day is. Today the photograph really spoke to me. I wanted to share it:
The caption at the bottom of the picture from National Geographic states:
"Nearly 2,000 years ago, the Colosseum was built to host gladiator duels, battle reenactments, and other public spectacles. Now, the 50,000-seat stone-and-concrete amphitheater serves Rome in another capacity: as a traffic circle." I am currently in college to teach History at the Secondary Education level. This really gets me thinking about how far we have come as a society, and how far we will go. How far God will be taking us.
What do you think?

| Why Are People Never Satisfied? April 1, 2008 03:10:00Sometimes I dont understand why people act the way they do. Recently within my local college ministry there has been a lot of tension. People have been pointing fingers at one another, they have been leaving, people just havent been satisfied. You can see how pleasing this is to the devil. I can see how Ive been caught in the middle of it all, and it was partly because of my own choice.
To make a long story short the theatrics are just settling down. People are starting to hear the voice of God, and are making their way again within the ministry; if only in a very small part of what it used to be.
Then...
Someone. Someone chooses to churn up these murky waters that have just started to settle down with an anonymous email. They bring up past problems and hurts, they bring up condescending thoughts, and they attempt to backup personal, possibly vindictive opinion, with scripture.
They create a brand new email for this harassment, they create a name to make it look like they are sending the email out of the main ministry email account, they also send the email without signing a signature and refuse to fess up to their actions. I dont know if this sends any "red flags" up for you, but for me it sends up many.
Who was this person? Who claims that they know the situation and their will and opinion is the right one? Why send the email now, and churn up the murky waters? Why make healing hearts hurt again?
Why do you attack this ministry satan?

| Brat Pack March 31, 2008 03:59:00Ever feel like just getting out, escaping? Why did God place me here? There is a song from The Rocket Summer that I enjoy a lot, here is a section of the lyrics:
"For about four years Ive hated this town Theres so much I just want to get out Since graduation was long ago Please somebody get me out of this hole Cause I dont want to get stuck in here When I am thirty-four just talking about high school years No I dont want to be there an I feel so stuck right here Back and forth side to side oh my dear My foot to the floor I will drive to the place Where I can kick it with friends through the night A place well talk about now and the past what the future holds Hanging out with not much to do Just aimless with each other is what we do
Cause this aint where its at My friends will second that And I gotta admit sometimes its pretty sad But its like were our own brat pack Were always kickin back nobody can take that That is that its like its all we have" Right now I love where I am and most everything about it. I actually am only looking forward to going back home for the summer because I can get a chance to work and more money in the bank account. Sometimes its extremely hard for us (as humans) to remember that God places us in situations that we might not find the most comfortable. He can spiritually place us "outside the box." He doesnt put the most compatible people in our lives, he puts the people in our lives that will help us grow the most. I know personally Its something extremely challenging for me.
Today in Church I was anointed with oil and prayed for by the Pastor and Elders. It was the first time Ive been anointed with oil and prayed for by so many people. It was extremely emotional for me to notice that Ive been in the Church family for less then a year, and when I went up to the chair for anointing so many wonderful people came up to pray for me.
Im going to let you go with a prayer; sorry for the shorter post!
Lord, I ask for a blessing upon anyone that comes across this blog. Bless them today that they may walk in your grace and that you might show them your grace and mercy in all its forms. Lord I ask for guidance and direction in all forms. Lord guide and direct those who come to Walk for the Lord, speak to them and guide them. In your precious name, Amen.

| Not Always The Other Person January 27, 2008 04:52:00I have been extremely busy the past week so I havent been posting as regularly as I would like. Ive been getting into the regular routine of classes, and getting back together with friends I havent had the chance to see before break! Today I took a day long trip up to Rochester to visit a friend, and to attend a Saturday Church service there.
I was thinking in the car ride today, and talking with a friend about basically, how great God is. Our Pastor recently was teaching us on how to be filled with the spirit; part of that was to be thankful. To try and be thankful for everything, even the "bad" things that seem to happen to us.
God has proven to me his blessings with the "Bad."
Ive really been trying to be thankful. I thanked God for placing me in an area of college (living area) that I didnt like so I could learn and grow, and to reach out. I thanked him for my loud and constantly drunk suite mates around me so I could be aware I could have ended up exactly like that without an awesome God. I thanked him for more and more.
The day after I thanked him for all of this, my suite mates were dead silent. They have been silent for the past... 3 or 4 days. Now you have to understand, they havent been completely silent since moving day. They are constantly in a drunken state, and screaming almost at the top of their lungs or blasting music.
What one of my friends said today about it really got me thinking: sometimes its not other people that are the problem, but ourselves.

| College Drama January 22, 2008 18:52:00Its funny how people get caught up in the small things of life. We dont look at the bigger picture, and we dont always keep our focus on God. God is coming for the end times, and that is what really matters; getting people to know Him, and keeping our walks pure and uplifting. Coming close to Him more before, with His love, He comes and takes us home. We HAVE to keep that foremost in our minds.
Our work, our schooling, our friends, and much more always seem to get in the way of that much bigger picture. Nothing like that gets in the way for God and His love for us. Lucifer tried to get in the way between God and us, he tried to get the angels to rebel against God because he didnt want to be servants under Gods new creation (us). He failed because God simply would let nothing come between our love and relationship.
The stupid petty things in life always seem to get in the way, especially the small dramatized things in life.
Lord I ask that you keep my mind foremost on you. That the bigger picture, Lord, is always the first thought in my mind, and that all other thoughts are in second place. Lord you are coming soon to bring us home Lord; this IS the end times, and let me always remember that and to not be afraid of that, but to be UPLIFTED to that fact. Lord, let me not worry about the small things in life, but to always remember the bigger picture, our relationship and your love. Lord I ask that you remind everyone to remember that and keep that foremost in their minds. You, Lord, would let nothing get between our relationship and our love. I ask that I let nothing get between our love and relationship. Lord I thank you for working on this instantly and already. Thank you so much Lord. I pray this in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Amen.

| Back To College January 20, 2008 04:41:00God amazes me time and time again. He works through us, He uses what we write, what we do, and how we live to affect all those around us. If you walk uplifting towards the Lord other people will be able to see that. Not only that, the Lord will be able to use you when other people are struggling. You will know the right words, you will know the right actions and thoughts. However at the same time you wont have any clue of the right words, any clue of the right actions and thoughts. Why? They arent your words, thoughts, or actions. Its God working through you :).
Im back at college now and I am "kittensick." Im missing the comfort of the kittens playing around me, and as they would have been sleeping around me usually right now. Instead Im alone in my dorm typing. What kittens am I talking about?
I didnt set them up like this, they were hugging while sleeping on my lap. Dont we all wish that sometimes society could be as simple as this? Wishing we could all just get along, all religions and races, all governments and policies in one way: Gods Love. We just have to let it in with open arms and accept it.
I woke up this morning at a grueling 5:00am and did all the last minute items to head off for college by 6:00am. We ended up leaving around 15 minutes early. I got to college around 11:00am, so I had lunch downtown with my Dad; It was the only time we had together all vacation, and was extremely nice. I then unpacked until the mid afternoon, until I went out and hung out with friends until the time I am writing this. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5 NIV
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust…. Psalm 18:2 KJV
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 KJV
And yet, Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are all formed by your hand. Isaiah 64:8 NLT
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy Spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Psalm 143:10 KJV
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:4 KJV
